Committees at Redwood Falls Sportsmen’s Club
The Redwood Falls Sportsmen’s Club thrives thanks to the efforts of our dedicated volunteers. Beyond our board members and general volunteers, our committees play an essential role in shaping the club’s future, managing key events, and ensuring our facilities and programs continue to grow.
If you’re looking for a way to get more involved, joining a committee is a great way to contribute your skills, share your ideas, and make a lasting impact. Below are the committees that help keep our club running strong.
As our club grows, so do our needs. The Range Expansion Committee is focused on improving and expanding our shooting facilities to accommodate new disciplines, enhance safety, and provide a better experience for all members. Responsibilities include:
- Planning and proposing range improvements
- Coordinating fundraising and grant applications
- Overseeing construction and maintenance projects
One of our biggest annual events, the Sportsmen’s Club Banquet, is made possible by the hard work of the Banquet Committee. This team organizes everything from sponsorships to raffles and auctions, ensuring the event is a success. Responsibilities include:
- Securing donations and sponsorships
- Organizing raffles, prizes, and auctions
- Managing logistics such as catering, venue setup, and ticket sales
With the popularity of defensive pistol shooting growing, this committee ensures that the league runs smoothly and continues to provide fun and challenging experiences for participants. Responsibilities include:
- Organizing match schedules and stages
- Recruiting and training Range Safety Officers (RSOs) and volunteers
- Managing scoring, rules, and event logistics
Trap shooting is a vital part of our club, and this committee works to promote participation and ensure smooth operations on the trap range. Responsibilities include:
- Scheduling trap events and open shoot nights
- Maintaining trap equipment and field facilities
- Encouraging new shooters and assisting with coaching
Engaging the next generation in shooting sports and outdoor activities is critical to the club’s future. The Youth Committee focuses on creating programs and events for young shooters. Responsibilities include:
- Organizing youth shooting events and training sessions
- Partnering with local schools, 4-H, and other youth organizations
- Securing funding and resources to support youth programs
- Organizing match schedules and stages
- Recruiting and training Range Safety Officers (RSOs) and volunteers
- Managing scoring, rules, and event logistics
From time to time, the club forms temporary committees to tackle specific projects or events. These ad hoc committees handle short-term initiatives, such as special fundraising efforts, facility maintenance projects, or new event development. If you have a specific idea or project you’d like to spearhead, let us know!
Club Bylaws
Our club operates under a set of established bylaws designed to ensure fairness, transparency, and consistency in how we conduct business. These bylaws outline the structure of our leadership, the responsibilities of our officers and members, and the procedures we follow for meetings, elections, and decision-making. They help guide our work, protect the integrity of the club, and ensure we remain aligned with our mission of supporting safe, responsible shooting sports. The bylaws were most recently updated in 2025. Members are encouraged to review them regularly and reach out to the board with any questions or suggestions.
