- What are the hours of operation? Sunrise to sunset. The range is open year round although there are times when it may not be accessible due to events or weather.
- Are day passes available? Unfortunately we do not offer day passes.
- How do I get a membership? There are several ways. You can purchase your membership at River Valley Arms and Ammo, the Sporting Goods counter at the Redwood Falls Running’s, online at the Sportsmen’s Club website, mail it to P.O. Box Redwood Falls, MN 56283, at the range on Tuesday night during trap.
- Can I shoot at night? Generally no. The police do a couple times a year. There are lights on the trap range but generally people are done shooting before the sun goes down.
- How long is my membership good for? Memberships expire every April whether you joined in April or November. We do open the membership starting in late December.
- Are there restrictions on the type of ammo I can shoot? Yes there are a few. No 50 BMG, no tracers, no armor piercing on steel targets, no centerfire file cartridges (example .223/5.56 even if it is in a AR pistol) or large magnum on steel pistol targets. Keep in mind if you shoot steel targets too close you may get hit with shrapnel. Eye protection is STRONGLY encouraged.
- What about targets? You have to bring your own targets unless you are shooting the installed steel targets.
- Do not shoot at targets sitting on the ground. They cause ricochets. All rounds need to impact the back berm. If you need to be closer to the target move forward.
- Do not shoot the uprights holding up the target boards or hang targets on them.
- Do not shoot the target boards with bird shoot and buckshot at close range.
- Remove your used targets.
- Do not shoot steel targets closer than 7 yards, 10 yards is even better.
- No exploding targets.
- No breakable (glass) targets
- Can I bring my own clay target thrower. Yes. Please have your missed targets land in the tall grass.
- Who is considered family with the membership? Spouses and dependent children.
- Can I bring a guest? Yes you can but you are responsible for them and must be present at all times.
- The gate lock will not open. After entering the combination you must push up and pull down. Zero the combination after opening the lock.
- Who do I contact if there is an Emergency? Life threatening? Dial 911 and tell them you are at 34813 Laser Ave, Redwood Falls Sportsmens Club.
- Do I need to clean up the mess I make? Yes, you need to pick up all of your trash. You can pile your brass in a pile for someone else but steel casings and shotgun hulls need to be thrown away.
- What if it something like the trash container is full? Let us know via email, Facebook, or a telephone call.
